I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

In the Pink Seashell Hair Accessories

Last week Momma P and I went BACK to that seashell shop for a birthday shopping trip. I don't think I've mentioned it....but it was my birthday last week. I'll show you what she got me another time! This post is about naturally PINK seashells.

Anyway....the shell shop is amazing! I found all kinds of goodies to play with! I have made a bunch of hair pretties, but we'll start with the pink one's. They are Rose Tellins.

These seven pink shell hair pins will come as a set. They would be really pretty in an up do for a wedding, or prom....or if you are just a seashell lovin' gal like me these are perfect to hold your bun in place.

These are my favorites, though!

They make such cute little flowers!

These are pretty, and so girly. Fun for a flower girl, don't you think? But also perfect for prom in the spring, or everyday wear if you live somewhere tropical. Like Florida, or Hawaii! Or one of those lovely exotic islands ahhhhhhh. These can just hold your hair out of your face, or would be so pretty in a bun.

I have some big barrettes to show you, and some new necklaces, but I'll have to get to them next week. Tomorrow morning hubby and I are headed to the beach! After a little relaxing in the sand and sun over the weekend I'll be ready to get back to work!

See you Monday, and have a great weekend!

Little Seashell Things

I haven't had much time for big projects, or getting back to time consuming projects.

I have done some little seashell things between custom orders :D

If you've been by my shop this week, you've already seen them.

If not.....well now you can!
Seashell Mother's Pin/Brooch
This Venus Sunray was very accommodating, having a natural made hole in the perfect place. A predator, such as a drill, accomplished this daunting task. The Sunray Venus is not an easy shell to drill. You would think they would be, being nice and thin. But no, they tend to crack and chip. (I'm working on it! but am afraid to combine electricity and water! It can be done, drilling in a water bath. I'm just a little chicken to do it.)

Any way.....this Seashell Mother's Pin can be customized. These crystals are easily changed, and it wouldn't be difficult to add crystals to represent more children. I have a plan if such turns out to be the case.

It has been over a year since I blogged about this cute little beach pail charm. Thanks to my super duper weather proof, waterproof adhesive, I came up with this little cutie!
Seashell Beach Pail Necklace
I mixed some sand with my glue and stuffed it in the pail, and then glued on my tiny shells. I let it dry and cure for several days. I wish I could find a mini shovel charm!

This vintage owl has been in my possession for many years. That's how I know it's vintage! It had lost the center turquoise piece. I fixed it!
Owl Seashell Necklace
A small cowrie shell took care of the empty spot. I think he's dang cute! I did find another chain that matches well, so I may (will probably) change the chain, take new pics, and change the listing a bit. The mini ball chain really isn't doing it for me.

I saw these heart cockles some time ago, and finally talked myself into buying some.
Seashell Heart Necklace

The heart bail adds a sweet touch, and the chain is oh so fine and delicate looking, but the links are soldered. A lock and key charm just naturally goes with hearts, and you know there has to be a pearl if I can manage it :D

I made a new bobby pin set to add to the accessories section in my shop.
Seashell Bobby Pins
These hair pins/bobby pins would be so pretty for a flower girl! I wouldn't be opposed to sticking some like this in my bun! I didn't dare drill these. They are thin, and very lightweight....and brittle. Drilling them would cause a weak spot, and therefor would be prone to breakage... best to glue these on to something!

So, I did get to do some playing this week!

Did you find something crafty to play with?

Edited to add....This was my 200th post! WOOHOO! Milestone baby!

Mermaids Delight!

My first delight is a little project that is something of my own, and I've been working on it for some time now. Working on it, setting it aside, pondering and planing, working a little more, and finally completing.
This hand mirror remained like this for several weeks (okay, a couple of months) while I contemplated what I wanted to do next.
And the brush remained as thus...

Think think think!

Okay, thinking too hard. Leave it alone, and it will come.

Lo and behold, it did!

This is going to be so pretty on my vanity! The tarnish is beautiful, and gives this mirror and brush set an ancient and time worn look. Like it was handed down from mermaid to mermaid.

The glue I used is amazing! I can pick up the mirror by a limpet shell and it holds true! Weather proof and waterproof, too!

While I had a pile of limpet shells out, and having finished my vanity set, I decided to play in the realm of mermaids some more, and made some hair accessories, too.
An entire selection of limpet shell barrettes and bobby pins!
One large seashell barrette, two small seashell barrettes, and a set of two seashell hair pins/bobby pins.

A perfect assortment to tame those wild mermaid tresses!
I wish you could see them in person, because my photos do NOT do them justice!!!

And I used the same glue on these.... they should hold up through a hurricane.

I'm going to have to get better pictures than this before I list these limpet shell hair accessories in my shop!

I have many pictures to take, several new things to list, AND I'm working on another custom order!

This mermaid better get her tail flippin' and get some things done!

I'll see you soon with some pretty and cool new seashell creations :D

Have a Great Weekend!

Fancy Seashell Hair Pins

I have been playing again, and just in time for summer beach weddings on the other side of the world!
These pretty seashell, pearl, and crystal hair pins would look oh so pretty in summer up do's! When hubby and I get around to renewing our vows on the beach, I'll make a set for myself.
The shell has been wire wrapped in sterling silver over copper wire, and dangles in the center of the fancy hair pin. Lovely little freshwater pearls are accented with tiny 3mm Swarovski Crystal Elements with shimmery aurora borealis finish. Pretty loops at the top of the hair pins make these extra feminine and oh so enchanting!
Can't you just imagine these sticking in the top of one of those fancy and feminine braids I rave about?!
They dangle beautifully placed upside down as well! Who wants to wait for a summer beach wedding? I want a pair of these now! I'd love to wear them for the Christmas season! The Florida version of icicles! Hahaa! I LOVE THEM!

Do you have special hair accessories that you wear for the holidays? I do now! Or will as as soon as I get back to my little studio to create a pair of these for myself!

Have a beachy day!
