I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

Coastal to Tropical The Finale

Hello! I can't believe I'm doing this post! I have to pinch myself :O

Back in September I decided to change my surroundings a little. You may remember Part 1 and Part 2.

A month or so ago hubby and I were out running some errands, and he asked if I wanted to go look at some furniture. Well, OF COURSE I WOULD! I found my dream furniture. And I really thought I would HAVE to be dreaming to see THAT in my home. A couple of weeks ago, we were out running errands on that side of town again, and he asked if I wanted to take another look at THAT furniture. "Sure honey, I'll just drool and dream a little bit more".

I think I have the best hubby in the world!
My pics don't do it justice. Really. It's beautiful aqua leather!
Please excuse hubby's Reese's wrapper under the couch....I just noticed it....and he has an addiction.

I have never had more comfortable furniture in my life! And I love how it POPS with my walls!
I hung the grandkids pics here in the frames I made by my antique dolly.
We also have a new door....it was a freebie!

These pics are washed out from the flash I guess. I never said I was a great photographer LOL!
My coconuts and starfish at each side of the window....
and my shadow boxes are above the window.
My seashell lamps (and one of my custom made coasters from Karen!)
I made this platter....the class was a Mother's Day gift from Shae in 2005 from a place called Do Art!
I may will probably move my plates to over the aquarium, and my ocean painting back to the dining room.
A better picture of my FREE door. Thanks Josh!
 My best buddy!

He prefers to be at least this close to me at all times! I couldn't leave his cute face out!

And this..... this is hubby's weekly stash of goodies, and doesn't include what he buys while away from the house each day while working!!!! I told you he had an addiction. Now you see why there was a wrapper under my couch I didn't notice!!!!!

Okay, back to the subject.

Nearly everything in my home is handmade, a gift, or a handmade gift. I actually have very few decor items that I purchased myself. I really am a simple gal, but I sure do like some pretty things.

And I do love my new FURniture! Thanks honey!

From Coastal to Tropical Part 2

Hello my beachy friends!
This post has been a loooooong time coming...at least it seems like it to me!

I'm not even sure where to start???

Hmmm...

How about the Heart of the Home?

The Kitchen!

before
during...laying tile
After!
and I took several AFTER pics.

oops...'scuse my dishes in the sink! I do live here...lol.

Bree loves it!
Ahhh... that's better!

Zach approves!
Did you notice I still need a threshold? Maybe by the end of the week???

so many DOORS!

Nothing is on it's proper shelf, or in it's proper place....yet.

CD shelf makes a great SHELL shelf

As you can see, I still need to do some decorating. LOTS of decorating. And window treatments.

My bedroom had a massive remodel too!

Buuuuut since I'm still looking for a bedding set, and curtains....this room will have to wait...for Coastal to Tropical Part 3!

But it is so pretty! and I'm oh sooooo Happy! Which means my hubby is oh so happy, too!!!

I did spend half of yesterday running all over town looking for the perfect bedding set,(cause I want it NOW!) and found several...but they also were not washable, and I will not compromise! I did find one online that I am ordering. It IS washable!

I will have some after decorating pics coming up. Just give me a little...okay maybe more than a little...time.

Right now my craft room is full of my wall hangings, pictures, and various decor items. It is a mess!

I took some pics of my mess, but I don't think you really want to see it!

I better get busy! It's time to hang some stuff!

Love,
Del

From Coastal to Tropical

When I moved into my home 8 years ago, I chose cool coastal colors.
Now I'm tired of my cool coastal DRAB gray...

and I want some COLOR!

I've been going back and forth between Quiet Providence Peach, and Sweet Pink Grapefruit.

One day I am SURE that I want
Sweet Pink Grapefruit...
and the next day, and I'm like nooooo I like the
Quiet Providence Peach!
and back and forth, and on an on....

My paint samples are starting to get worn!

The Providence Peach is more PINK
and the Pink Grapefruit is more CORAL

I love BOTH of them! (and they are actually about the color of the color above them...my scanner lightened them a touch)

I think my marble merman and mermaid would really pop with one of these colors!

And things on this glass shelf would catch the eye better, too!

I still have about a week to decide. During this time I will be painting my oh too blue bedroom!
It is NOT the color that was on my sample when I chose it!

This room will soon be more of a nice sea green.  With flooring to match my furniture!

I have also picked out tile for the kitchen ;)

I picked this tile for the colors....but the name just happens to be OCEAN something! LOL
I think it will look amazing next to the PINK or CORAL dining room!

Okay, enough dreaming!

It's time to clear out my bedroom, and get it started, so I can get it finished...
so I can move on to the living/dining areas.
My little break is over...time to get movin' again.

pssssst...I have been playing around with some Olive shells, too!

Love,
Del
