I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

New Seashell Fan Pulls

Have I told you how GOOD it feels to be creating again? If I haven't...it DOES!

I had some big shells leftover from other projects, and had ordered the supplies for more fan pulls. I wanted these to be a little different than the last one's I made, so I added ocean themed charms :)

This was the easiest to photograph. The starfish charm stayed where it should while laying down.

The others...well not so much.

They are perfect while hanging though.

Each one has a different charm.

It's really hard to pick a fave! I like them ALL!

The pointy shells are Tibia, and come from the Indian Ocean, and the Indo-Pacific region. They are a member of the conch family. I love the conch family :D

The flat shell you know is a flat scallop...an Irish Flat Scallop to be precise. I think they are so pretty!

A nice addition for beachy, coastal, and tropical decor!

We have a ceiling fan in nearly every room in the house, and 2 in the screen room. The only rooms without one are the kitchen and dining room. My living room ceiling fan doesn't have pull chains :O
It's operated by remote control....and a friendly ghost sometimes : )

How many ceiling fans do you have?

A New Mermaid

You all know I have a few mermaids here and there, in and around my home. So, it should be no surprise that I chose a mermaid business card holder to take with me to shows. I have 2 mermaid business card holders saved in my Favorites on Etsy. It was really hard to decide between them. Really hard! Both of them come from By The Seashore Decor on Etsy. Carol and Andrew have an entire shop filled with things I'd love to have!

The packaging has a wonderfully beachy and tropical feel to it. Love the flamingos!

I had her painted coral! It will really POP against the aqua table cloths in my booth.

I'll be adding a few more coral POPS of color, too! If I had just ordered her a few days earlier, I could have had her for my 1st show. But that's okay, there will be more shows!

I think she will be a great addition to my tabletop! Carol and Andrew did a wonderful job painting her, too.

Do these colors look familiar to any of you? It has been nearly a year ago that I started painting and decorating the interior of my home in these colors. I still love them!

Can you spot the mermaids in these posts, here, here, and here?

Coastal to Tropical The Finale

Hello! I can't believe I'm doing this post! I have to pinch myself :O

Back in September I decided to change my surroundings a little. You may remember Part 1 and Part 2.

A month or so ago hubby and I were out running some errands, and he asked if I wanted to go look at some furniture. Well, OF COURSE I WOULD! I found my dream furniture. And I really thought I would HAVE to be dreaming to see THAT in my home. A couple of weeks ago, we were out running errands on that side of town again, and he asked if I wanted to take another look at THAT furniture. "Sure honey, I'll just drool and dream a little bit more".

I think I have the best hubby in the world!
My pics don't do it justice. Really. It's beautiful aqua leather!
Please excuse hubby's Reese's wrapper under the couch....I just noticed it....and he has an addiction.

I have never had more comfortable furniture in my life! And I love how it POPS with my walls!
I hung the grandkids pics here in the frames I made by my antique dolly.
We also have a new door....it was a freebie!

These pics are washed out from the flash I guess. I never said I was a great photographer LOL!
My coconuts and starfish at each side of the window....
and my shadow boxes are above the window.
My seashell lamps (and one of my custom made coasters from Karen!)
I made this platter....the class was a Mother's Day gift from Shae in 2005 from a place called Do Art!
I may will probably move my plates to over the aquarium, and my ocean painting back to the dining room.
A better picture of my FREE door. Thanks Josh!
 My best buddy!

He prefers to be at least this close to me at all times! I couldn't leave his cute face out!

And this..... this is hubby's weekly stash of goodies, and doesn't include what he buys while away from the house each day while working!!!! I told you he had an addiction. Now you see why there was a wrapper under my couch I didn't notice!!!!!

Okay, back to the subject.

Nearly everything in my home is handmade, a gift, or a handmade gift. I actually have very few decor items that I purchased myself. I really am a simple gal, but I sure do like some pretty things.

And I do love my new FURniture! Thanks honey!

Beachy-ness

After spackling and painting I am having some trouble putting things back on the walls. Not only can I not decide where I want them to go, I don't want a bunch of holes in my beautiful Pink Grapefruit, and Pink Flamingo walls. I know I could use the 3M stickies to hang things, but I am a pound a nail into the wall kind of gal....or I used to be! I am down to just a few more pictures, and I have some blank spaces, and some items have been moved into another room. I'm hoping to begin sewing my window treatments for the living room soon!

I revamped a broken coral aquarium piece...
added turbo tacky glue
and sand
and a vase filled with small white rock, and the broken coral, with shells glued around the top
The peacock feathers are from hubby's grandma's farm back in the early 80's. We gathered them so long ago, and have so very few left. Over the years I've removed the broken feathers, and cut them down...some had to be thrown away...but they are very old, and have sentimental value to us.

I did a little change up on some old oil lamps, too! The metal has been sprayed with antique bronze paint, and I put some shells inside.
I absolutely hated these oil lamps...now I love them!

I also made a candle.
I'm working on the net over the aquarium...
and I made the cutest earring for my cartilage piercing!
I LLLLLOVE this earring!

I've done some sea life stencils...
Very simple chalk art. I really like these...they are plain...and well, simple!

This is a little of what I've been up to!

My bedroom curtains have been rehung, and my 2nd comforter came. When my walls are bedecked, I will take some pics :) Bear with me...good things come to those who wait. and wait. and wait.

I got the supplies I was waiting for :) I'm hoping to get to that today!
Can you believe I miss Etsy, and making jewelry everyday? I do. I really, really do!

Love,
Del
