I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

I shake the sand from the bed
and then I sweep the floor
the dog comes in, and shakes his head
and slings sand on the door!

I've got sand between my toes
in my ears, and up my nose
in the bed, and on the floor
I sweep it out, the dogs bring in more!

I like sand on the beach
it feels so good beneath my feet
in the yard, or on the shore
Florida has sand galore!

Building castles made of sand
on the shore, or far inland
this childhood activity feels me with glee
won't you come play in the sand with me?

I'd love to come play in the sand! We've had nothing but rain up here all week and I need to get out of the house.

Great poem and a perfect description of sand. We have lots of that around here!

Hi there Della - just stopping by to say hi and see what you have been up to. I have been out of the mix for a month or so - working on a project at work. Have missed all my blogging buddies. Take care...and have a great weekend. XO Debbie
