I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

Golden Pearled Abalone with Mother of Pearl Heishi Necklace

Hey there! Is anyone else as glad it's Friday as I am? I do enjoy the weekends, and am excited for them when I know my hubby hasn't planned to work.

What he has planned is something extremely cool, something we've been wanting to do, and something we've never done before. I also have a something cool to do, that I've been wanting to do, and have never done before, so this should be a FUN weekend for us! Hopefully this tropical storm supposed to turn hurricane doesn't muck up our plans, cause hubby's plan includes going to the Gulf on Sunday.
I'll let you know on Monday ;)

For now, let's talk seashell jewelry.

I think it may be apparent that I have a new thing for abalone shells of all kinds. Every time I see a new variety, I am buying it to play with. I still have a couple of kinds, besides this one, that I haven't played with yet....I'm hoping to do that today!

I think I've shown you the pearled abalone. This is the golden pearled abalone shell. It has a pretty golden hue to it. I have 5 more of this shell in various sizes, from larger than this one, and then graduating down to 1 3/4 inches.

This shell is nearly 2 1/2 inches long. It's so pretty!

It goes so well with the Mother of Pearl Heishi Beads. These are the beads I bought when I Diane and I went to my bead store. I added some small aqua button pearls for a touch of beachy color, and I think it makes a nice accent to the Mother of Pearl (MOP) in this necklace.

I bought a black velveteen necklace display bust, and you would think a mostly white necklace would just pop against the black. What it does is make such a glare that you can't see the necklace or the shell. I tried it with the tropical necklace from yesterday, too, and it was a no go.

I really, really like the simplicity of this necklace, and the iridescent hues of the shell. This is so beachy!

Last night the sky was amazing, so I have to share some pics with you.

Quite a spectacular show, and even more impressive in person! It was breathtaking!

Oh, and the house next door....has sat empty since it was built in early 2007. Wanna be my neighbor?

Have a great weekend! See you on Monday!

What fun we would have if I lived next door to you! You'd never get any work done tho. LOL! Kinda hard to plow snow from Florida. :-( Your color choices for your jewelry are always perfect! I can't wait to hear what you're doing this weekend. I think I know what ONE thing might be! Have fun!

That house should be opened as a crafter's retreat, with you managing it.
