I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

Seashell Saturday

I used to have a collection of various shells, and shell fragments in baskets along the wall at the entrance to my home. All of them found a new home last week when I had the "kids" dig a hole in the front yard for my pond.
The pond is in

and then the fish
I know running water, and fountains are good Chi, and was told to have the water flow coming towards the house, to simulate money flowing in, not out.

the water runs down the big rock
Louisiana Iris and mini Cattails are on each side of the big rock

My mermaid gazes longingly at the fish in the pond
around the base of the mermaid, Florida shells, Oregon sand dollars, and Gulf Coast sponges, and a sea tossed coconut
more shells, another coconut, and one of my sea turtles
a stepping stone to get over to the pond. I want to make a more natural one......

I arranged, and rearranged shells, hubby stacked the Florida limestone rocks, and made the waterfall. I have another iris, and a white waterlily trying to grow in the pond. We still have little touches to see to, and the grass needs to fill back in, but we like it. I'm excited to see the mini cattails. Oh! and the mermaid....now that's another post! She has a little story behind how we came to have her.

I enjoy hearing the water trickle into the pond when the door is open. It's so peaceful. Love it!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Seashell Jewelry Set Bracelet and Earrings in Vivacious Violet and Sterling Silver

This seashell jewelry bracelet and earring set is the essence of spring in Florida. This beautiful soft pink shell is complimented by luscious vivacious violet freshwater pearls, and accented with sterling silver. Sparkly Swarovski crystals in a nice, big, 10mm bicone of Light Violet, add to the brilliant femininity of this lovely one of a kind bracelet. The earrings are a perfect accent to the bracelet, with matching pearls, crystals, and sterling silver.
This is The Ultra Feminine in beachy seashell jewelry. Aren't those lovely ear wires?!?! I, personally, ADORE this set. The pearls are exquisite!

I thought I would share this with you first. I haven't listed it yet, but I'm hoping to get it listed today.
It will be in the Del's Sea Shell Jewelry section of the shop.

We are having perfect beach weather in Florida! Our temps have been in the mid 80's, and it is beautiful! This is when I like to go shelling, when it's nice and warm. If our temps hold, I'll have to plan a beach trip real soon!

Have a beautiful, sunny day!

Seashell Saturday

I have found many shells in various sizes over the years. Some have been the size of a pencil lead, while some of them have been nice size shells. Today I want to share with you one of my most prized shell finds. It may not be the prettiest, but it is one of my faves.

This Florida Horse Conch is one of the biggest shells I have found. It is weathered and worn, and far from perfect, but I treasure this shell. It's about a foot long.
I was overjoyed when I found this one about 7 years ago. It isn't everyday that you find a horse conch this size! I never in my life dreamed I would find one, so imagine my surprise when I spied this washed up on the beach. Actually, hubby and I saw this at the same time, and there is still a friendly argument about who found it. I'm pretty sure I was the first one to touch it ;) Our shell sits majestically above the kitchen cabinets, with our other large shells, and corals... some found and some bought.
This awesome specimen was of course, found on the Gulf Coast, around the Fort Myers area. I can't wait to find another big shell to go above the cabinets! They are few, and far between, but they are out there. I certainly intend to find more!

I hope you enjoyed Seashell Saturday, and I hope you find some wonderful shells out there! Just be a sweetie, and only take shells that are uninhabited. There are plenty of empty shells to collect!

Have a great weekend!
