I've been collecting seashells for as long as I can remember. From east to west, coast to coast, and shore to shore, I always find a treasure to keep, and adore.

Oh Sanibel!

My sweet shellin' sista Shell Lady sent me a whole bunch of shells! I couldn't resist playing with them, and here are the results....

Those dark magenta and orange scallops, the big ones were just too neat to not play with.
These were perfect for hair barrettes! I have a secret method to deduce what a shell will be used for.

This perfect little paper fig wanted to be a necklace.

I gave this shell a nice gloss coat, and oh so carefully drilled a tiny hole.

This necklace reminds me of the beautiful Gulf Coast.

The pristine blue of the water
Do you see that BIG thing swimming? WHAT is it?

that gorgeous coral-y color the sky turns at sunset

and there is even a lavender hue on the shell.... and sometimes the sky turns this color, too.

The lavender hue is from the color inside the shell, and no, it's not purple inside.

It's a caramel color in there, but through the other side of the shell looks to be lavender.

See what I mean. All the colors of the Gulf.

I wish you all could see this in person!

I haven't decided what to do with it yet.....

it does match most of MY summer wardrobe :)

I still have a thing for teal, aqua, coral, and pink grapefruit going on, and most likely will for the rest of my life. I love these colors!

I'll show you just how much I love these colors tomorrow!

Thanks Cheri! I really enjoy playing with the shells!

Pink Seashell Charm Bracelet with Blush Pink and White Freshwater Pearls

This pretty pink calico scallop charm bracelet is the first thing I made from my newly found shells!
I just couldn't resist playing with them!
In my Etsy description I geared it towards summer beach weddings, and the blushing bride. But who says she has a to be a new blushing bride.

I was actually thinking of a dear friend who loves calico scallops while making this one ;)
I used small, dainty size shells for this pretty in pink seashell and pearl concoction. I think it's just darling!

Now, what kind of shells do I want to play with next?

What is your favorite kind of seashell?

Love,
Del

Mermaid Seashell Necklace

Today I did a small change up on my coastal style  Mermaid Seashell Necklace. It has such a feminine feel to it, and has received 2 hearts, but I think it needed to be shortened. When I made this one, long necklaces were so the rage. Not so much anymore. I removed the chain, and changed the lobster clasp to a pretty textured toggle. I love how it hangs now! I think that I will make my jewelry the way I like it,  and not let some new fashion fad change my normal designs. I have several necklaces that I want to shorten now.

This pretty scallop shell is accompanied by Aventurine gemstone beads, jade green glass beads, and pink pressed glass roundels. I am very pleased with this one! You can get a more thorough description of this in my Etsy shop.

My photography skills are improving! It will be nice to have everything re-shot, and the shop looking more put together, and appealing to the eye.

Here's a sneak peak at what I'm working on now. These freshwater pearls are deliciously perfect, and the color is vivacious violet!
The shell looks so pretty and delicate next to the pearls! This will make it's debut soon, so stay tuned.
